Finishing Touches To The Blades

Now that your blades are all measured and cut out we need to make some finishing touches before we mount them on the hub. This step will make your blades more aerodynamic as well as pretty up your blades.

What You'll Need:

  • Blades that you cut out in a previous step
  • 80 Grit metal sandpaper

All you want to do in this step is sand down the edges of each of the blades so they're nice and rounded. This will increase their efficiency because the air will flow over them more efficiently.

After you've sanded the blades down just give them two coats of white paint (I use white tremclad). This will help protect them from the damaging UV rays of the sun.

In the next step we'll be making a hub and than connecting the blades to the hub.
